Meet the yoga teacher

Jenn Anderson, 200HR Certified Yoga Teacher
Jenn began practicing yoga in 2004 as a modality to improve stamina and flexibility for running. She fell in love with energizing power yoga, disciplined ashtanga, and heated vinyasa flow classes. Through seasons of pregnancies and raising young children she gravitated towards gentle hatha and began exploring pranayama with meditation as part of a self-healing journey to overcome postpartum anxiety, depression, and injuries. With improved mental health and mobility thanks to yoga, Jenn has sustained a daily vinyasa practice to compliment her return to running since 2014.
She began studying at Shanti Wellness in 2018 where she gratefully earned her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification in 2022 and trained under Rey and Fran Candelaria of Shanti Wellness Center in Munster, IN and Jim Bennitt and James Tennant of Tejas Yoga in Chicago. Since then, she has continued her training and studies to offer Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra as well as beginner's Hatha and Vinyasa.
Jenn has also received her Usui Reiki 1 attunement with Reiki Master Danna Goddard at Shanti Wellness and Level 1 Sound Healing Certification through Life Changing Energy at Serendipity Yoga to enhance her personal practice and yoga class offerings.
Jenn loves infusing her classes with grounding breathwork, setting intentions, building agni or warmth, mindful sequencing centered around themes such as a specific pose, bandha, mudra, breathing style, chakra or more subtle concepts in the 8-limbed yogic philosophy, and restful savasana with supportive props, guided meditation, sound healing, and chanting.
Jenn believes that being the best version of herself - patient, kind, accepting, loving - is rooted in her yoga practice, and she looks forward to sharing the journey with her students.
